Strong Start to the Year for Playtech
Playtech cements its position as a leading software provider with impressive first quarter revenue figures.
Playtech recently reported revenues of €75.1 million for the first quarter of 2012, an impressive increase of 8%.
It is the latest stride forward for the online gaming software and services giant, following its acquirement of Ash Gaming Limited earlier this year. The acquisition has strengthened relationships in both the UK and European markets. Ash Gaming focuses on slots and received a commendation for its 'innovation in slots production' from e-Gaming Review in 2010.
Playtech had also planned to acquire various businesses and assets worth up to €95 million from bodies linked to Playtech's biggest shareholder Teddy Sagi, and had signed a non-binding memorandum. However, it has been announced that the memorandum has been amended and Playtech is now set to enter a software license agreement regarding these assets.
As for the future, Playtech will remain a leading force in the world of online gambling and turnkey services. Big names currently under the Playtech umbrella include Mobenga, Intelligent Gaming, Videobet and Virtue Fusion.
