Melco PBL Appoints James Mackenzie to Company Board

On April 26th, 2008, Melco PBL Entertainment has appointed Mirvac Head James Mackezie to its board following the resignation of board director David Elmsie. Elmsie has become the COO of the international arm of James Packer's Crown Limited. Mackenzie, who is currently living in Melbourne, will head the audit committee of the company.

Melco PBL, which is already listed in Nasdaq on December 2006, manages the Crown Casino in Macau. The company is currently constructing the City of Dreams worth $2.3 million and plans to construct a 3rd casino and hotel facility. Currently, the Crown Limited has a 37.9% share in Melco PBL, together with Melco Hong Kong. It is managed by Lawrence Ho.

Mackenzie is the ex-chairman of the Victorian Workcover Authority, the director for funds management and insurance together with ANZ, the CEO of Norwich Union Australia and the head of Victoria's Transport Accident Commission. The shares of Melco PBL are currently encountering some problems since listing in the United States almost a year ago because of bigger risks and the downturn with the credit investment.

The shares of the company is currently valued at $19. But right now, the shares of the company is $8.20 before improving to $13.85 after the announcement that Macau will suspend giving out casino licenses.
