Valley of the Springs and Big Island Water Developers Hope to Break Ground by July 2007
On June 12, 2007, the developers of a hotel facility and water park with a retractable ceiling hope to start construction this summer with their $23 million project near their gambling casino facility in Orange County.
Location preparation is already underway for the project, named the Valley of the Springs Resort in French Lick, which will feature a 156-room hotel facility aside from the 40,000 sq ft water park, named Big Splash Island.
The project's groundbreaking is temporarily scheduled this July, according to Terry Seitz of Intercomm Group, which represents the interest of project developers, Jerry and Carolyn Fuhs.
The pair currently owns 4 Southern Indiana Hotels like the Beachwood Inn, which is just across from French Lick Resort and Casino. They are hoping to open the resort by the fall of 2008, employing a staff of 150. The Big Splash Island water park will have a retractable ceiling to allow natural light and use energy conservation methods, according to Jerry Fuhs statement.
It will also feature a lot of water attractions suitable for family outings. The establishment will have a big arcade, restaurants and a convention facility.
