Wynn Resorts to Take Over Foxwoods Casino Project
Gaming giant Steve Wynn and his Wynn Resorts organization have constructed some of the best gambling destination resorts all over the world.
However, their plan for a revive casino project in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania is to keep it simple. Wynn Resorts announced on February 23rd, 2010 that they would be taking over the management of the Philadelphia casino project that has been put on hold for quite some time now.
The group still needs to get the approval of gaming regulators but Steve Wynn hopes to do that himself when he travels to Harrisburg to discuss his casino plans before the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board on February 24th, 2010. The Gaming Board had threatened to revoke the license of the Foxwoods casino project because of the delays but Steve Wynn is confident that the project will be constructed as soon as possible.
Wynn said that the casino will be a one-story establishment with different amenities. Aside from a slot machine gaming floor, the casino will also feature a poker room, an Italian restaurant, Asian restaurant and a steak house. Casino table games will also be offered at the facility now that the Pennsylvania legislators have approved casino table games like blackjack.
The Mashantucket Pequot tribe was the majority owner of the casino project under the previous agreement with state officials but will now become the minority owner of the casino. Local investors will also keep their minority stake with Wynn becoming the majority owner.
